GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!\nThis month we have Kristin Fung\nReturning to Vancouver after seven years in Toronto, Kristin Fung’s ferocious, tender, and captivating voice as a lead singer, keyboardist, composer, and improviser traverse musical landscapes of “soulful grace [and] jazzy joy” (From The Intercom), and funky R&B. Her deeply earnest and uplifting originals evoke the sounds of self-accompanying piano queens Alicia Keys and Patrice Rushen, showing off her powerhouse lungs and groovy piano chops.\nFung’s forthcoming electro-R&B single, “Why Don’t You Dance” will hit worldwide platforms and roller rinks this year.\nA soulful innovator, Fung is the creator of the outdoor live music and chocolate series, Funk N’ Mink which was one of five selected recipients of DowntownVan’s Public Space Vibrancy program (2021). Other performances include the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (2021), Markham Jazz Festival (2019), and Roulette (New York, 2019).\n \nThe Chapel- Located in a recently restored heritage building (St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church), The Chapel is an intimate space perfect for happy hour, live music, poetry readings, and small gatherings. On the corner of Nelson and Burrard, we’re right in the heart of Downtown and the West End. Look for the glowing pink doors behind the 2/44 bus stop on Burrard St. This spring we’re hosting live music, pop-up, happy hours on select Fridays. Join us for wine, beer, and light snacks after work or before heading out for the night!\n \nDoors open at 6:00pm, with live music starting at 6:30pm. Last call around 9pm.\n \nThis event is being held on the stolen, ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh-ulh, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. As we live and organize space as settlers on these lands, we have an obligation to continuously work to repair harms perpetrated upon Indigenous communities, presently and historically.\nOppressive attitudes and behaviour — including but not limited to misogyny, transphobia, racism, fatphobia, cultural appropriation and ableism — are not welcome here – this is a brave West End space.\n\nAccessibility:\nThere are 16 steps to the main entrance and an accessible entrance on Nelson St. (please note if this is needed in ticket add ons). The washroom is single-stall, all-gender, with additional gendered washrooms as needed.\n\nTickets:\nWith a mix of high and low top tables, there’s a spot for everyone.
