SUMMARY:Jazz Vespers Black History Month with Candus Churchill &amp; Friends
DESCRIPTION:In 2020/2021 Candus Churchill was inducted in The BC Entertainment Hall Of Fame Star Meritus.\nShe was born into a musical family in Louisville, Ky., and was influenced by all the great Jazz, R&amp;B and Gospel artist of the day.\nCandus has performed across The US and in Japan. She arrived in Canada in 1980 with a Rock / Funk band called Dragon Fly that toured across Canada for many years. Vancouver quickly became home.\nShe later began acting in productions at The Arts Club Theatre and went on to amass an extensive list of film and TV credits.\nIn 1991 Candus, along with Hall of Fame recipient, Marcus Mosely, created The Circle of Voices, Vancouver’s first contemporary black gospel group. Under Candus’ administration they became The Gospel Experience, a seminal force in the Vancouver gospel music scene for over two decades.\n
