DESCRIPTION:Karin Plato is a Juno nominated jazz vocalist and recording artist. She has performed throughout Canada and in the western USA for concert societies and at jazz festivals. She works as a composer, arranger and music educator. She has three times been nominated Canadian Jazz Vocalist of the Year at the National Jazz Awards and she is a West Coast Music Award nominee. Karin has released nine independent recordings of jazz and blues standards and her original songs.\nEach year for Mother’s Day Jazz Vespers Karin invites one of her vocal students to participate in singing a few duets to gain experience in singing with a professional band. This year’s guest is vocalist Sidney Jin. Sidney loves jazz and she has been regularly participating in jazz jams and performing with friends in various locations in our city.\n
