DESCRIPTION:Sharon Minemoto has been captivating audiences since the age of 16, building an international career as a pianist, composer, bandleader, and educator. She leads a trio, quartet, and quintet, with multiple recordings, national tours, and broadcasts on CBC Radio. Her quartet’s releases include Safe Travels and Dark Night, Bright Stars, with new original works inspired by her family’s history slated for release in 2026.\nA sought-after collaborator, Sharon has performed with many of Canada’s leading jazz artists as well as major orchestras and acclaimed international guests. A recipient of numerous arts grants, she has studied in New York City with master pianists and continues to create deeply personal, story-driven music.\nBeyond the stage, Sharon is a dedicated mentor and community builder – a longtime faculty member at Vancouver Community College, arts leader, and curator. She books and programs the weekly jazz series every Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon at La Fabrique St. George Winery, presenting live performances by local and visiting artists year-round.\n
