Camp Information

May 2 to 4 at Camp Fircom

Come and join us for a wonderful weekend in the beauty of God’s creation. Come and create special memories with your church family and your own!

LOCATION: We will be heading to Camp Fircom, overlooking the ocean it is situated on the south-east corner of Gambier Island in Howe Sound. It is only accessible by a 20 minute water taxi from Horseshoe Bay. The 120 acre site includes beaches, playing fields and hiking trails. Fircom’s facilities include a beautiful dining hall, an indoor games and crafts area, and a large picnic shelter. Fircom follows sustainable living practices and generates their own electricity and maintain their own water supply, septic system and communication system.

We will enjoy opportunities. . . to play, to explore, to participate in adventures with camp staff, sing around a campfire and share delicious meals.

HOW: We will have a bus leaving the church earlier Friday afternoon. There is parking in Horseshoe Bay at the ferry terminal. We will confirm departure time of the bus once folks have registered. We will begin our retreat with supper on Friday at 5:30pm and we will return home Sunday on the 1pm boat from camp. Accommodations at the camp are cabins which will be shared by participants.

COST: We are committed to making this camp financially accessible to all those who attend St. Andrew’s Wesley but priority for bursaries will be given to families with children first. We ask that you look at what you could afford as a family and contribute as you can. Some of you will ask what the actual cost is per person and it is around $310 (not including the buses). The planning team will be asking participants to contribute in some ways whether it is leading an activity or sharing a story or song or some gift they’d love to share!

We will send an overview of the schedule closer to the retreat.

Camp Fircom Waiver Form

Camp Fircom requires you to register your adult and children/teen dietary needs individually and directly to them. Please use the below link(s) to do so. Note, you will need to create an Amilia account to use their registration platform. I agree to fill out this Camp Fircom registration form by April 13th as all dietary restrictions need to be submitted to the kitchen by then.
