ON LEAVE JULY & AUGUST 2022

I’m a prairie girl living on the west coast – or a Vancouver girl from the prairie.  I love the adventure of life – perhaps that’s why I ended up in Ministry – the variety of experience and the adventure of never knowing where God will take you next.  I’ve served on the Downtown East Side, the small town vibe of Ladner, and in suburban churches most recently Gilmore Park United Church in Richmond, BC. And in each situation I’ve always looked forward to the opportunities to be creative. My first career was in writing – mostly as a science and medical writer and policy analyst, although my first degree is in Economics.  I was sent off to Vancouver School of Theology when I asked too many questions at Bible Study, and loved the opportunity to ask as many questions as I liked.  I met my husband, Iain, at church in Edmonton, and our 2 adult kids describe us as a super-geek family – because we love all things sci-fi and spend most of our spare time at weird theatre.  I’m fascinated by the ways popular culture retells the religious and mythological stories.  My most profound experiences of God have happened on retreats, in theatres and while working on Vancouver’s downtown east side, where the ex-cons had read more of the Bible than me.

I'm Here to Talk to You
