Pastoral Care

Care, Support & Presence Within the Church

Pastoral care is the ministry of care, support and presence offered the ministers and by members here at St. Andrew’s-Wesley in such areas as:

  1. Spiritual guidance: support for people as they attempt to deepen their relationship with the divine, or to learn and grow in their own personal spirituality.
  2. Visits: for those unable to come to the Church, we meet with people in their homes or in hospital
  3. Prayer requests: you can request a prayer for yourself or a member of your family or friends
  4. Membership:  find out more about what it means to become a member of the church

We are blessed to have a team of volunteers whose focus is pastoral care.  Regular contact from volunteers helps people who are unable to attend the church keep in touch with the life of the church.  Pastoral Elders offer care and support through visiting members.  The prayer group meets monthly to hold people in prayer and our Stitching Circle knits prayer shawls to remind folks of the love and care that surrounds them in difficult times.  The overall purpose is to express God’s love and care for each person and to welcome them into the life of the Church.
