Join the Good News cafe for conversation and companionship! This week we are thrilled to welcome the Honorable Hedy Fry, MP for Vancouver Centre. She will share stories from her remarkable career as physician, politician and activist. Hedy Madeleine Fry, is a Trinidadian-Canadian politician and physician who is currently the longest-serving female Member of Parliament, winning ten consecutive elections in the constituency of Vancouver Centre including the 1993 election, when she defeated incumbent Prime Minister Kim Campbell. She currently serves as the Special Representative for Gender Issues at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly, a role she has held since 2010. Fry is also a member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, and the Special Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic.

I Am Somebody is the inspiring story about six street-connected children who are chosen to represent their country at the Street Child World Cup in Qatar. Some of them are from the streets of Brazil and Bangladesh, some come from poor families in Pakistan and another is from a refugee camp in Palestine. But there is one thing that all these children have in common: their lives will change forever when they participate in the Street Child World Cup.
