Music is at the heart of St. Andrew’s-Wesley and a central part of our services. At our Sunday Morning Service we feature the stunning blending voices of our professional ensemble whose repertoire ranges from Renaissance choral music to gospel, jazz, and contemporary. We also invite our congregational choir or guest musicians to perform on Sunday mornings from time to time. Our Director of Music or assistant organist begins and ends this service with a piece on our wonderful newly-restored Casavant organ or on our new complete rebuild Steinway 9ft grand piano.
At our Candlelit Contemplative Service we find commonality and connection in Taize chants and beautiful relaxing choral music. Our professional quartet is there often to sing calming and reflective music to soothe the body, spirit, and mind. These services are not only an opportunity for our congregation to join in singing the chants, but also for our singers to perform solos from their own repertoire. The service concludes with a peaceful postlude played or sung by our Director of Music.
