Shadia Qubti is a Palestinian theologian and practitioner who has worked in peacebuilding and advocacy initiatives for 15 years through local and international organizations in Israel and Palestine. As a Palestinian Christian, she is particularly focused on amplifying the voices and perspectives of women and other minorities in various ways, one of which was in the Women Behind the Wall podcast (www.womenbehindthewall.com). Born and raised in Nazareth, Qubti studied International Relations and English Language at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Conflict Resolution and Nonviolent Action at Trinity Dublin College in Ireland, and recently completed another master’s in Interreligious and Indigenous Studies at the Vancouver School of Theology in Vancouver, Canada. Qubti currently lives and works at Trinity Grace United Church in Vancouver as the community engagement animator.
