Overdose Awareness Day Vigil

Date

Aug 31, 2025

Time

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us, Sunday August 31st at 7pm for a special contemplative service for International Overdose Awareness Day. In collaboration with Moms Stop The Harm, this vigil commemorates all people lost to drug overdose and the toxic drug crisis, acknowledges the grief of those left behind, and lifts up those who continue to work towards harm reduction and ending stigma.

Moms Stop The Harm is a grassroots group started by parents who lost their children due to the toxic drug crisis. They call for an end to the failed war on drugs through evidence-based prevention, treatment and policy change. They support a harm reduction approach that is both compassionate and non-discriminatory for people who use substances. Ending the stigma around conversations on addiction, recovery and safe drug supply is just part of what this province-wide group of parents hope to accomplish.
