Eric Schwarzhoff’s brilliant lyric tenor sound and reliable musicianship have made him a singer to watch around Vancouver. Eric currently sings with Vancouver Chamber Choir and the Vancouver Bach Symphonic Choir and has performed with many choirs across Vancouver.
Franz Schubert’s monumental song cycle, Die Schöne Müllerin (“The Fair Maid of the Mill”), follows the story of a young man, through his first cheerful moments wandering the countryside on a youthful adventure, to his meeting the beautiful daughter of a mill owner and falling in love, to the pain of realizing that his love is unrequited. Based on the poetry of Wilhelm Müller and composed by Schubert in 1823 when he was only 26, its themes of love, hope and tragedy are timeless, and continue to resonate with listeners to this day.
