The members of Ruby Lane Organ Trio have played many musical styles, but what brought us together was a mutual love of the great organ trios of the past, bands led by Jimmy Smith, Wes Montgomery, Tony Williams, Joey DeFrancesco and Dr. Lonnie Smith. And while these names are generally classified as jazz, good music is good music, so why not explore other genres, and apply a jazz organ trio sound to a Sixties Beatles tune, to great R&B songs from the Seventies, to Brazilian bossa nova, to high-energy rock shuffles and to any song that we love?
