Skye Eriksen quartet is a group of Vancouver, BC based musicians, living and playing on the traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Members of this group are engaged in a variety of musical projects around the city, and can be seen and heard performing in styles that range from contemporary, to funk, soul, rock, eastern European folk, and traditional jazz. All members share a love and joy of playing, learning and performing music of the Black American tradition. Many members of the group are alumni to CapU’s Jazz Studies program, and currently also play together in The Leading Ladies Big Band, as well as numerous other musical groups and respective solo musical projects. They are looking forward to collaborating as a new group and sharing their love of jazz music.
