These four sessions will explore Paul as a person who encountered and challenged the Roman Empire with a subversive Gospel centered on a crucified Jew, that changed everything about how people were to interpret politics, economics, human relationships, creation, and God. Dr. Maier is convinced that Paul is genuinely the person for a time we find ourselves in right now. His teaching helps us turn toward Advent, a season where we ask what we should hope for and how that hope shapes how we are to live faith in a world that is threatening and chaotic, where Christian faith is weaponized against the vulnerable by lying politicians, and we see daily acts of violence against humans and creation.
