This is a 4 week class. Each week we will be digging into how to make pottery out of ‘wild clay’ and how to fire your pottery in the most ancient way – in an actual fire!

May 4 – Dig clay – in this class we will learn how to find, gather and process clay – in the wild! We will go – on location. Dress for hiking and getting muddy!

May 11 – Make a pot – The second class we will make small simple pots from local ‘wild clay’. You will be able to touch and feel different clays from different sources and learn some of the properties of various clays.

May 18 – Finish Pot – This third class we will be able to really see how the different clays behave as they dry, and some techniques for finishing and decorating your vessels.

Sat, May 28 – Fire pots – The fourth and final class we will fire our dried pots – in an actual wood fire!
