What’s your vision? Every two years the congregation, board and staff ask the Holy Spirit: how do you want StAW to live out its mission? How can we continue to live into God’s promise to welcome and love all? As we explore the themes of Art, Spirit, Social Justice and Inclusion, we ask ourselves what we want to see happen in those areas, and how each of us might offer our gifts to one of those areas. Please pick one session to attend and share your wisdom!
What to expect: this will be a playful brainstorming session with creative exercises and personal discernment. We explore what is currently being offered by the church just as much as dreaming anything new. What do you love? What would you improve or change? How might we open our doors more frequently to the whole neighbourhood?

Art: artist in residence, art exhibits (Angels Among us, The F Word) music and choral program (including in worship), music rentals, the windows, the Chapel music series, lunchtime concert series, Spotlight.
Spirit: Worship, bible study, exploring your faith, all faith education (including advent and Lenten studies, faith education for children and youth, labyrinth, yoga, Women’s wisdom, Camp Spirit, Prayer and Pastoral care groups, Life groups, Women’s day apart.
Social justice: Refugee sponsorship, reconciliation, climate justice, First United food truck, social justice partnerships, diversity and inclusion training, Affirm United
Inclusion: Word is out, Good News Café, Men’s Breakfast, Community open house, Welcome Back BBQ, coffee and blessing on the steps, SpiritPride, Lights of Hope, Christmas Carol night, Trans Day of remembrance, SpiritPride, Stitching group, Congregational Camp.
