Based in Vancouver, the Clara Lin Trio is led by pianist and vocalist Clara Lin, whose musical journey began in Shenzhen, China, and continued through years of study and performance in the United States. Her style is a vibrant blend of classic swing, urban contemporary grooves, and East Asian–inspired melodies, reflecting the diverse influences she has absorbed along the way. For this performance, Clara joins forces with two of her favorite collaborators—bassist Emilio Suárez and drummer Karl DeJong—to present a night of soulful, joyful, and swinging music in tribute to Canadian jazz legend Oscar Peterson, described by CBC Music as “more than a jazz icon. He was a Canadian treasure whose music broke barriers and redefined excellence.”
