Grief changes us. Grief is a form of knowledge. It tells us where we are connected, where we care, and where something precious is being harmed or lost. Before we rush to numb it or convert it into immediate action, we need to let it speak. Grief carries information. (Rev Cameron Trimble)
In cultures where grief is connected primarily with death, we ignore grief information where the loss is rarely recognized or not acknowledged by others, non death losses.. These are often difficult to name, describe or validate because there is no body attached to the loss. This workshop will explore what death and non-death losses are and their impact on people’s mind, body and soul. We’ll talk about the cultural, gender, social norms that can inhibit the release of grief. Respecting that grief is individual, options will be provided and shared on how to name, acknowledge and integrate a healing journey.
