Join us for our annual Pet Blessing to celebrate World Animal Day and to honour St. Francis of Assisi, an early patron of animals and the environment. We look forward to celebrating our pets, livestock and working animals who deserve to be recognized and blessed! We hope you and the animals in your life will join us in our church to give thanks for their companionship and service.
Dementia is a terrifying possibility for many of us as we age. The language we use in modern society to describe people living with this disease is dismissive at best and extremely damaging at worst. This seminar introduces a new perspective on dementia, and explores ways to ease anxieties and embrace positive aspirations for those living with – – or fearing they might one day live with – – this condition. We will focus on some practical steps you can take today to manage the possibility of cognitive changes in your future.
In life, in death, in life beyond death, We are Not Alone, thanks be to God! Join us for 3 sessions as we have open and faithful discussions as we 1. explore the meaning and gift of `legacy, 2. make space to creatively plan and name our hopes around our funerals 3. prayerfully explore M.A.I.D. Medical Assistance in Death.
Our Place
In the World
St. Andrew’s-Wesley respectfully acknowledges that we gather on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. For thousands of years, First Nations people have walked on this land and their relationship with the land is at the centre of their lives and spirituality. As a church, and settlers on these shores, we have a life-long responsibility to unlearn our misunderstandings of history, territory, and identity through critical reflection, acknowledgement, and listening.
