Jazz Vespers with Bill Costin & Tim Porter

Playing jazz piano/guitar arrangements in the style of Bill Evans and Jim Hall, and Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays. Bill and Tim have played together in different situations and styles of music for over 25 years. Both originate from Nanaimo: a great music town!

Bill Costin: Piano 
From his first gig playing a dance at his old elementary school at 14 years old, Bill has been a working musician.  The piano has taken him from Florida, to the Yukon, and back playing for cruise ship companies, tourism destinations, theatre venues, concerts, corporate events, house parties, bars, and saloons.  Teachers have been Bryan Stovell (Nanaimo), Edward Parker (Vancouver), Dan Haerle (Dallas), and Andy Laverne (New York).  Bill has accompanied Michael Buble, Jim Byrnes,  Ranee Lee, Denis Simpson, Candace Churchill, and Tom Pickett to name a few.  Bill resides in Vancouver with his family. 

Tim Porter: Guitar
Tim is a highly respected musician who has been performing in the field for over 25 years.  Tim has performed regularly with a diverse array of performers including Brickhouse, The Canadian Tenors, Long John Baldry, The Powder Blues Band, John Lee Sanders, Jim Byrnes, Diane Lines and many others.   He is well versed in all styles of music including jazz, blues, pop, rock and country and is a seasoned session player with countless recording credits to his name.
