Saba Amrei is an Iranian-Canadian vocalist whose artistry bridges the worlds of jazz, poetry, and Persian musical tradition. Drawing on a deep love of classic jazz standards and the evocative melodies of old Iranian songs, her music explores themes of longing, identity, and spiritual connection.
With a voice that is both intimate and expressive, Saba offers interpretations that honor the depth of the material while bringing her own cross-cultural perspective to the stage. Her performances often reflect her interfaith sensibility, welcoming listeners of all backgrounds into a shared emotional and sonic space. Performing as the Saba Amrei Quartet , she is joined by guitarist Julian Jayma, bassist Emilio Suarez, and drummer Jamison Ko, all accomplished musicians rooted in Vancouver’s jazz scene.
