“Jesus Goes to the Movies” looks at different ways in which Jesus is portrayed over the last 50 years. This is not an exhaustive survey of Jesus films, but a small selection to spark reflection and discussion.
Films include:
Jesus Christ Superstar (the original; 1973)
Jesus of Montreal (mature themes: viewer discretion advised; 1989)
The Chosen (a couple of episodes from the TV series; 2019)
Movies are free. Popcorn and beverage: $1.00.
The films are about 2 hours so we’ll gather in the Salons at 6:45 and begin the film promptly at 7:00.
