6th Annual General Meeting 2024 ~ Connecting, Collaborating, Cultivating
The Pacific Mountain Region General Meeting will be held at St. Andrew’s Wesley, Thursday, May 30 – Sunday, June 2. The last time a general meeting was held in a church was in 1987, about 35 years ago. And that momentous gathering, when the regional body voted on whether to ordain openly Gay/Lesbian candidates for ministry, also happened at St. Andrew’s Wesley. We’re honoured to host once again.
The theme of the meeting will be “Collaborative Ministry” captured in the title: Connecting, Collaborating, Cultivating. Perhaps most relevant to you who are reading this will be:
- The Opening Worship service, Thursday evening, 6:45
- The Closing Worship service, Saturday late afternoon, 4:30
- And definitely the Celebration of Ministry service on Sunday (when Jen Cunnings will be ordained!)
Also of interest:
Friday night: Affirm United will host a night to celebrate affirming ministry, to include the Rainbow Chorus from New Westminster, and the showing of the excellent film 1946, how the word “homosexuality” was mistranslated in the Bible and the effect that has had over the decades.
Saturday night: Unwind with Sing, Sing, Sing! Join Rhian and Curt who will turn us all into a choir singing favourite pop songs.
A Sneak Peek
Note: Guests are welcome to come to any part of the Regional General Meeting. (Most seating will be in the balcony for the daytime events; on the floor of the sanctuary for evening events).

Bruce Harding will collaborate with friends to offer World Music on Friday; Aidan Miller will collaborate with friends to offer amazing jazz on Saturday; and Angelique, Curt and Ben will collaborate to offer great music leadership Thursday night and with music leadership from Shaughnessy Heights United Church on Sunday.
