Coloratura soprano Magdalena How is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at UBC, where she will be performing as the Queen of the Night in UBC Opera’s upcoming production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute.
Praised by The Globe and Mail for “…his silky, emotional presence on stage – both vocally and dramatically…”, Sri Lankan tenor Asitha Tennekoon has established himself as one of Canada’s most versatile singing artists. In 2017 he drew critical acclaim and received a Dora Award for his portrayal of Paul in Tapestry Opera/Scottish Opera’s Rocking Horse Winner.
Rebecca Collett is a singer and music educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. Rebecca made her professional singing debut at age six on Sesame Street Canada. Since then, Rebecca has sung with choirs and orchestras throughout Ontario and British Columbia, including the Canadian Opera Company Chorus and the Vancouver Opera Chorus.
Born into a musical family, mezzo-soprano Dinah Ayre has always had a passion for storytelling through song. Dinah sings with multiple local choirs including the Vancouver Chamber Choir, but also finds time to pursue projects in a wide array of genres like opera, jazz, and new music & theater creation.
Gloria Wan (she/her) is a professional choral singer, conductor, and educator who has been equally well-versed in contemporary and classical music communities. A multi-genre singer, guitarist, beatboxer, and percussionist, she has appeared on-stage with musica intima, elektra, National Youth Choir of Canada, Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, and various other ensembles.
Baritone Winston M. Lanyon has a deep love of all things musical. He resides in Vancouver as both a professional singer and software/web developer. He sings with the Vancouver Chamber Choir and various other fine ensembles in the area, loving every moment he is able to share music and art with those around him.
Baritone Russell Cripps is a high school teacher who loves singing and performing. Recently, he has been singing with Vancouver Cantata Singers and Shaughnessy Heights United Church Choir.
